Clean up and Fairy Garden

Students did a Spring/ Summer clean up of our school grounds and garden area. They collected any rubbish and also gathered weeds and got the garden ready for Summer. We noticed some lovely new growth in the garden also.

The children have been busy adding decorations to the fairy garden and painting some pots and furniture also to make the garden look even prettier than it already is.

Green for St Patrick’s Day

We dressed in green gear for St. Patrick’s Day! Everyone made a great effort to wear green clothes and we even had a special treat of green and orange jelly and ice-cream! Students from 1st- 6th class participated in a Trath na gCeist as as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.

MS Readathon

During the Months of October and November, our students took part in the MS Readathon. We read lots of books and raised awareness and money for people with MS. Everyone enjoyed extra reading time at school and home. Well done to those who raised money using thier sponsorship cards. Thank you to everyone who donated to this good cause!

Raising the Active Flag.

We were delighted to be able to raise our first Active Flag on Sunday last June 25th at our Annual Fun Run.

Maebh and Miss. Tansey raised the flag together. Its great to see the flag flying high outside our school after a year filled with fun active activities.

Pictured above is the Active Committee.

A Poet Comes to Visit!

A big thank you to Jane Clarke, a poet of national acclaim, who visited our school on the 22nd of June! She shared some of her beautiful poetry with us, as did the children 🙂 The children had the opportunity to ask Jane questions about her poems and also participated in a poetry-writing workshop, much to their enjoyment! What a lovely experience 🙂
