5th and 6th class students, their teachers and principals will attend a matinee performance in the secondary school on the 20th of December at 11:30am. Don’t forget your Santa hats!
School Photographs
Countyphotos are visiting the school on the 6th of December! Proofs of each photograph taken will be sent home for you to view. Options include mounted photographs, framed prints, calendars, bookmarks, key rings and magnets!
Carol Service
The annual carol service will take place in St. Patrick’s Church in Castlerea at 7:30pm on the 19th of December. Children participating have to be there at 7pm. The practice will be in the church the day before, December 18th, at 2:30pm.
School Award!
We’ve been selected for this year’s Roscommon County Council’s Environmental Award in the Tidy Schools category!! The presentation will take place on the 7th of December and photos will be published in the local newspapers and on the county council’s website so keep a look out!
There will be a soccer tournament for 3rd and 4th class boys and girls in Loughlynn Hall on Friday, the of 2nd December! The tournament will start at 10:30 and finish at approximately 1:30. Children can come to school in their gear. Dress for the weather 🙂
Mc Cormack’s Family Circus will visit the school on the 15th of November at 1pm. The hour-long show is sure to impress and we look forward to the spectacular display!

Children may come to school in their fancy dress outfits and make a voluntary contribution to Temple Street Chiodren’s Hospital.

Children are taking part in this competition.
Upcoming visit from the optician
Sean Maloney from Maloney Keady Opticians will talk to the children in conjunction with this month’s theme, the optician, in Aistear.
Swimming
Swimming lessons will begin on the Thursday the 12th of January, 2017.
The class begins at 11am.
Dates for the swimming are as follows:
January 12th, 19th and 26th and February 2nd, 9th, 13th and 16th
For the Student
• Use the toilet and showers before the lesson starts
• Listen to your swim instructor and follow instruction at all times
• If you have to leave the class for any reason, please ask the instructor first
• Pack your swim bag the night before, checking you have your swim gear, hat, goggles and towel.
