5 Star Fun at GAA

We were lucky to have a morning of GAA training from two enthusiastic GAA coaches. All students from the school participated in learning new ball techniques and practicing fundamental movement skills, as well as having lots of fun and getting exercise. They learned some new games and skills which they really enjoyed.

Hand Knit Chickens Fundraiser

Our students donated very generously to the work of Missionaries in Brazil, South Africa and India.

Sr. Breege visited the school with hand-made knitted chicks filled with mini Easter eggs. The children were delighted to hear about the work abroad and were happy to buy the eggs and chicks to support this worthy cause.

Green for St Patrick’s Day

We dressed in green gear for St. Patrick’s Day! Everyone made a great effort to wear green clothes and we even had a special treat of green and orange jelly and ice-cream! Students from 1st- 6th class participated in a Trath na gCeist as as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.

World Book Day Activities

We engaged in lots of fun events to celebrate World book Day. Students worked in pairs to participate in a book themed quiz in which they had to use all their knowledge of reading, characters, authors and settings to answer the questions.

We also did some Buddy Shared Reading. The children from the junior room chose their favourite book, which the students from the senior room read to them. It was a very enjoyable activity. Well done to  all the readers. They got the chance to encourage the younger children, spend time with them and also share the magic of stories with them!

World Book Day Costumes

It was amazing to see how creative and innovative our students were dressing up  as characters from their favourite books. Well done to all the students who made a huge effort to be creative and thanks to all the parents who helped with the costumes. It made the day very enjoyable and special indeed!

Gangsta Granny Drama

Our ‘read aloud’ book Gangsta Granny is entertaining the Senior Room Students. During drama,  they created short scenes and acted them out! We recorded the mini- scenes on the i-pad and watched them back.  They were very entertaining. Here are some of the still images they created!Well done everyone.

Pancake Tuesday

Children from the Senior room were delighted to have pancakes this afternoon! Chocolate and lemon were the toppings of choice! Thanks to Alannah for helping out!
