Sports Day 2022

Sports day was a fun day for all our students. They participated in a selection of GAA activities, orienteering, a variety of different individual and team races, basketball, parachute games and an obstacle course. Everyone was presented with a medal for participation and enjoyed ice cream and biscuits to end the day. Thank you to the teachers and SNA for all their help.

End of Year Prize day and Community Games winners

All of students were presented with a special award certificate which reflected their achievements, skills or talents this year. In addition, there were prizes for improvement in Maths and English and an overall Spirit of the School Award.

Congratulations to all those who participated in the Community Games Competitions. We were lucky to have prize winners in a number of categories in the Art and Handwriting competitions.

End of year School Mass

Well done to all students for their participation in the end of year school Mass, the readings, prayers, offertory and the beautiful singing. Thank you to Fr Kevin who gave a lovely sermon about the importance of saying “Thank You”. We were delighted that so many parents and grandparents could come to celebrate this Mass with us.

Shannon River Adventure School Tour

On 24th June, we had a very exciting day out for our annual school tour! The children got to experience a variety of different land based and water based activities. Everyone had great fun and really enjoyed themselves. We definitely have some contenders for Ireland’s Fittest Families in the future.

Confirmation 2022

Congratulation to the 6th class pupils – Megan, Eddie, Erin & Vicki who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday the 7th of May.

GAA Football Blitz – 3rd May 2022

Interschool GAA 2 teacher blitz was held on Tuesday 3rd May in Glavey’s Pitch in Ballinlough.

The teams involved were Threen NS, Loughglynn NS and Granlahan NS.

Both the boys and girls teams played two games each with the girls winning both of their games and the boys winning one game.

Fred the Party Professor

We had a visit from Fred the Party Professor on Monday the 4th of April 2022. He surprised us all with lots of wonderful tricks which made us all giggle and laugh. Another fun time in Threen N.S.

Odd Sock Day


Students and teachers wore odd socks as a way to show that all feelings are ok and as a way to show we are all different. It is absolutely fine to have different feelings at different times in our lives.

Sacrament of Reconciliation- First Confession

Well done to Aisling, Rebecca, John and James who received Sacrament of Reconciliation recently. They learned all about the story of Zacchaeus and forgiveness and becoming Jesus’ friend. Thank you to Fr John, the parents and Mrs. Collins for helping to prepare the children.
