School Walk June 2021

Staff and students enjoyed a lovely walk up a country lane near our school. The students had the opportunity to have some play time, games and a picnic in a freshly cut field! Great fun was had by all. Thanks to a local farmer for use of their field!

Indoor Wall Murals

This year we have been involved in the ‘Artist in School’ Programme, and we have created wall murals in our school. The children designed the wall murals and were involved in the painting also. Lots of different things which are important elements of school life in Threen NS are represented including learning, sport, community, the school garden, music and our local church.

Football Coaching

Students have been enjoying some football training sessions with a lovely coach, Peter, over recent weeks.

They have been developing new skills and having lots of fun! Well done to all involved.

Community Games

Well done to all our participants in this year’s Virtual Community Games events. A Special word of Congratulations to Ruth, Averie, James, Heather, Zoe, Lauren and Victoria who won prizes for Art, Handwriting, Dance and Recitation.

Climate Change

Children in the Senior Room created posters to highlight some of the issues we have been learning about in Climate Change. We integrated this work into lots of different subjects including English, Art, Drama, Geography, Science and SPHE.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Well done to Daniel, Aaron, Eva, Emilia and Averie who made their First Confession today in Trien Church. Thanks to Fr John and the parents who helped us celebrate this very special occasion.

Clean up and Fairy Garden

Students did a Spring/ Summer clean up of our school grounds and garden area. They collected any rubbish and also gathered weeds and got the garden ready for Summer. We noticed some lovely new growth in the garden also.

The children have been busy adding decorations to the fairy garden and painting some pots and furniture also to make the garden look even prettier than it already is.

National Tree Week

This week students were learning about Native Irish trees. We also examined trees in our school grounds, and sketched them and painted trees for our art lesson.

Learning From Home

Well done to all our students who are learning at home again this term. Thanks to all the parents who are supporting the students and for all the engagement in the online, written and active learning activities.
