Well done to Eddie, Jessica,Joseph and Abi on their sports certificate and prize for competing in all sports activities in Term 2. Keep up the great work.
Also well done to Robert who recently took part in a rugby blitz with Creggs Rugby Club. He got a lovely medal on the day.
The Active Committee met to count the votes for the sports that the children had put into the suggestion box.
Most of the sports listed have been included on the Active Week Timetable.
The members also completed a questionnaire ‘What Club are you in?’ with the whole school to see if there were clubs we could include for that week.
Parents are asked to join us on Monday 24th April for our local forest walk at 1pm and Wednesday 26th for our W.O.W day at 9.10am.
All children are encouraged to walk or cycle to school for this week.
Sports clothes and runners must be worn each day.

Mrs. Callaghan and Miss. O’ Beirne are covering the strand area of Athletics at present. Both teachers used the PSSI Lesson Plans for the classes.
Thanks to Tommy Finneran (Liam’s Dad) who came in to do a session of G.A.A skills with 3rd-6th class recently.
On March 16th 2nd-6th class visited a Wind Farm in Co.Mayo. While the majority of the walk was up hill we all made it up to inspect the Wind turbines. We were very lucky with the great weather.
Anne Patten gave us a talk on March 28th about safety on our roads. She explained the importance of wearing a high Vis jacket when out walking, always to go with an adult and only cross on a straight road with no traffic approaching.
She also explained the safety procedures when cycling, to check tyres, brakes and to make sure your helmet is fitted properly.
For Seachtaine na Gaeilge Ms. O’ Beirne showed the class the steps to two irish dances, An Dreolín and Ballaí Luimnigh.
Some of the girls also attend Irish Dance classes locally and showed us a reel and a jig.
Both girls and boys teams took part in the recent soccer blitz which was held in Castlerea on March 14th.
The girls team are now through to the County Final on March 30th in Lecarrow. Best of Luck.
On March 15th Ciarraí (our past pupil) and Holly joined us with their winning cups and medals. They both attend Castlerea Community School and they were very lucky in February when they won the U.16 Basketball League Title. In March they went on to win the Cup Final.
A hugh congratulations to the girls, their team and management on the great wins.
